He State Department of the United States fired a member of the foreign service for hide his romantic relationship with a Chinese citizen allegedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party.
This relationship was confessed by the official himself, who the State Department has refused to identify, in a video published in X last August by the far-right activist James O’Keefe.
In that recording, made with a hidden camera, the former worker explains his testimony to an “undercover” journalist.

The diplomat admitted on camera that he had hidden the information and acknowledged that she could have been a spy for China: “I challenged the Government for love”he declared.
“Following presidential review and approval, the State Department has officially terminated the employment of a foreign service officer who admitted to concealing a romantic relationship with a Chinese national with known ties to the Chinese Communist Party,” department deputy spokesman Tommy Pigott said Thursday.

As explained by the Department spokesperson, this termination responds to an executive order signed by Trump himself to protect the national security of the United States.
This could be the first case of dismissal under this executive order signed last February.
